This is THE spot for bird activity early in the morning, summer or winter: the watering hole. Mosquitoes like this spot, too. Come prepared to thwart or swat them. I usually stand on the bank of the creek; I've never actually crawled down the embankment to bird. Swainson's Thrush can be found in migration along this creek as well as Wild Turkey.
