Curve-billed Thrasher

Apparently prickly pear fruit is irrisistable to birds. I've seen mockingbirds, towhees, woodpeckers, and Pyrrhuloxia with purple stains on their face and feet. (More stain-faced photos latter.) This thrasher was photographed at Dyess AFB. (c) LgPacker
