Pyrrhuloxia

Some call the Pyrrhuloxia the Mexican Cardinal. It is closely related to our Northern Cardinal but it's fairly shy around people and stays secluded in Mesquite shrub habitat. This male was found in the Buffalo Gap area feasting on juniper berries. (c)LgPacker
