Scissor-tailed Flycatcher Preens

Birds eat insects (duh); insects are exoskeletons (their skeleton is on the outside of their bodies); and bone is hard to digest. So the Scissor-tail regurgitates the indigestible bug parts. This is called pellet casting. © LgPacker
