Northern Flicker, Red-shafted Form

There are two races of flickers; the Red-shafted race from the Western U.S. and the Yellow-shafted race from the Eastern U.S. The Red-shafted flicker has bright reddish feathers underneath its wings and tail. A slight reddish hue can be seen in the above photo. (Photo by LgPacker)
