Northern Flicker

This is the frontal view of a Northern Flicker showing its spotted breast and black crescent bib. Black moustachial stripe, red crescent on nape of neck, identifies it as a male Yellow-shafted Flicker of the eastern U.S. Flickers love to eat ants and spend considerable time on the ground foraging for them.
