Saturday, April 18

Field trip to Abilene State Park. We will meet in the day use area near the pool at 7:00 a.m. and bird until about noon. Afterwards, all are welcome to stay and participate in the Abilene State Park Heritage Day which begins at 1:00. More information can be found here . We will be checking out the birds coming to the feeders at the bird blind as well as looking for any migrants passing through.

Saturday, May 2

Out-of-town field trip to John Bunker Sands Wetland Center in Seagoville, TX. This beautiful wetland center in the Dallas area is totally worth the drive. We will meet in the Visitor’s Center at 9:00 a.m. when the park opens. Admission to the park is $5 Adults, $4 Seniors 60+, $3 Children 5-12, 4 and under are free. Bring a sack lunch and we will picnic at the park. If you want more information about the park, they have a great website here. Thursday, May 7

Dinner meeting at the Abilene State Park. In May, instead of having a regular meeting, we will be sharing a meal together out at the Abilene State Park. We will meet at the Group Building in the Shelter Area at 6:00 p.m. Come early if you want to bird! The club will provide barbecue, drinks, and paper goods. Bring sides and dessert to share. We would also love to hear about everyone’s birding experiences from the past year, so feel free to bring stories and photos as well.
